SB TireCraft, Enfield NS

Cars, Community, and Quality

When living and working along the 102 corridor in East Hants, a bedroom community of the Halifax Regional Municipality, transportation is key.

For more than 30 years SB TireCraft owners Scott Blois and Mike White have been offering a wide range of vehicle repairs, maintenance, treatment options, and tire brands to the growing community. With nine service bays, SB Tirecraft is one of the largest automotive service locations in the area.

Owners Scott and Mike say the community of Enfield is their home, which is why they’ve spent years helping their friends, family, and neighbors with automotive needs.

“Whether it’s your first time in the shop or you’ve been here many times, we make sure that you’ll feel welcome,” Scott says.

“We pride ourselves not only on our exemplary service but also on our relationship with the community we serve,”Mike says.

SB TireCraft Enfield needed an apprentice who wanted to learn all aspects of the trade, would value the community, and the integrity of the business. SB TireCraft let the Office to Advance Women Apprentices know exactly what they needed and the office quickly matched them with a direct entry apprentice from the corridor community. SB TireCraft is building a team, a business, and capacity in East Hants by giving a female automotive service technician apprentice an opportunity to start her career in a skilled trade close to home.

Their Diagnostics were Spot On

“I was clear that I needed an apprentice who was teachable, but would be reliable and understand our company and community values,” says Scott. “The Office to Advance Women Apprentices took time to understand our needs and came out to see the shop. Project coordinator Daphne Goodine saw the opportunity for a keen local apprentice to learn all aspects of automotive service.

“I wanted an apprentice who we could train for the way we work, but mostly we needed someone who values our commitment to community and would be part of our local area. The office was fantastic! Even making us segways to NS Apprenticeship Agency to help us navigate a wage subsidy to get our new auto service technician apprentice started.”
