As a powerhouse operator at Key Lake, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient steam and sulphuric acid production on site. You will ensure appropriate distribution of steam and sulphuric acid to meet process and heating demands as well as performing checks and required maintenance on steam/sulphuric acid production equipment as necessary.  As part of the utilities team, you will be responsible for operation of the black start CAT’s and Mirrlee electrical generators and aid in power restoration to site.  The utilities team is also responsible for the operation of the oxygen plant.  Other duties include operational checks on air compressors, HVAC units and assisting with maintenance as needed.

 

This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 90 days.

 

Education and Qualifications

 

Requirements of the position:

Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
A valid Saskatchewan second class power engineering certificate
At minimum, a valid Saskatchewan third class power engineering certificate working toward their second Class will also be considered.
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:

Knowledge of the operating principles of a sulphuric acid plant and power generation systems.
Knowledge and experience with maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment
Ability to use appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools to complete job tasks
Preference will be given to qualified internal applicants and Residents of Saskatchewan’s North.
